Piotr looking ahead to a busy BEDA Conference

Piotr Swiatek, our Projects Manager for Design & Innovation Policy who also serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA), will be taking part in its upcoming Design Forum and General Assembly (GA) in Brussels on May 30th and 31st.

Engaging with the European Design Community

The BEDA Design Forum, themed "Cool Europe – by Design", offers attendees a platform to connect with design leaders, policymakers, and fellow BEDA members. Piotr will share insights from our recent design policy projects in Estonia and the Philippines, as well as on his work implementing design methodologies across European governments.

Piotr will also showcase the SYMBIO project, a European collaboration seeking to pilot circular by design principles in bio-based industries.

Financial and Advocacy Leadership at the General Assembly

During the BEDA GA, Piotr will fulfil his official duties as Treasurer, which includes presenting a report on BEDA's financial health and discussing the organisation's design policy advocacy efforts. During Piotr’s term, BEDA strengthened its position which allowed the organisation to initiate the Saccord project, which is focused on up-skilling creative industries, and The Design as a Competitive Edge project that promotes use of IP protection in small creative businesses. Piotr will also be standing for re-election to the BEDA Board to continue his leadership role.
