We're going to the London Design Festival

On Friday 20th September, Katie Forrest Smith, our in-house CMF Designer and Davie Morgan, Digital Media and Marketing Officer, will be attending the London Design Festival.

An annual highlight in the British design calendar, the 22nd LDF takes place between 14th-22nd September and offers a wide variety of exhibitions located around the capital. Its mission is to promote the city’s creativity, drawing in thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators from the UK and beyond to deliver an unmissable celebration of design.

“London Design Festival is a fantastic event which brings together designers from across the globe and demonstrates the capital’s position as a powerhouse for the creative industries. London is known for its creativity and continues to attract the best companies and talent from around the world.” Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London.

The trip will provide an ideal opportunity for the pair to observe some of the foremost trends and innovations from the wider design world.

Colour of Saying: Ethical Colour,
Switchboard Studios, Walthamstow

Colour of Saying presents an interactive display and exhibition entitled 'Ethical Colour'. This ongoing piece of research promotes climate-positive and regenerative colour sources. It presents progressive colour-makers whose work crosses design disciplines and highlights circular systems and emerging colour innovations

Vert by Diez Office in partnership with OMC°C,
Chelsea College of Arts

Located on the Parade Ground of Chelsea College of Arts, Vert is a sustainable structure rendered in sustainable red-oak glulam that proposes an innovative architectural solution for cooling cities and increasing urban biodiversity.

Material Matters
Bankside Design District

Taking place once again at the iconic Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s Southbank, the fair includes five floors of products, site-specific installations, curated exhibitor spaces and an extensive talks programme, providing a platform for engagement, collaboration and inspiration for the design and architecture industries. Material Matters investigates how the design industry can address issues around the circular economy and why material intelligence is so important to all our lives.

Fortnum & Mason x Jaime Hayon

Fortnum & Mason, Piccadilly

On display at Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly, this installation by Jaime Hayon foreshadows the 25th anniversary of the renowned artist and designer’s eponymous studio, transforming the store's iconic windows and atrium, and epitomising the brand's commitment to artistry.
